Mr. Syracuse's Earth Science Class made a model of the Solar System!
The model uses a scale that sets 1 m equal to 1,000,000 km in space! So all the sizes of the planets and the distances between them are actually one billion times smaller than they actually are! We're currently in the process of setting up the model, but check back soon for pictures and maps of where each planet is located!

MercuryHere is Mercury, the first planet out from the sun. It's represented by a bebe, and is located outside of our classroom.

VenusVenus is represented by a marble, and located in the Criminal Justice Classroom. Thanks to Mr. Loparco for letting us invade!

EarthOur home planet, also represented by a marble, is located in A-building.

MarsMars, represented by a bebe, is at the front doors of DeWitt Middle School.

JupiterJupiter is located just across rt. 13. It's the largest of the planets, and represented by a foam ball.

SaturnWe found a craft fair at the Tripphammer mall, and a vendor kindly let us put Saturn, another foam ball, on her table.

UranusUranus is represented by a foam ball, and is placed by the shores of Bebe lake at Cornell.

NeptuneThe United Way kindly lent us their boardroom to be a home to Neptune.
