Links

1.  Smart Exchange: Don't reinvent the wheel.  Before you go off trying to create a smartboard lesson all on your own, search to see if someone else already has.  As Picasso said, "Good artists borrow, great artists steal."

2.  PhET:  AMAZING animations and interactives that are perfect for the smartboard.  Search by subject or grade level.

3.  The SMART Technologies company:  The people who came up with the SMART board.  Also check out their smart table, tablets, projectors and other interesting technology.

4.  Mimio:  A different take on interactive whiteboards.  Less expensive, more portable solutions.

5.  Promethian Boards:  Yet another interactive whiteboard company.

6.  Polyvision:  Another company with a different take on the smartboard -- a bit toned down.

7.  New York Science Teacher:  An amazing site with teacher-generated content from all over NY.  You need this website.

8.  Problem Attic:  A great way to review for standardized tests.  Choose from a bank of regents questions and PDF yourself a quiz!

9.  Eduware:  An amazing company with a cutting edge take on clickers and clicker games.

10.  Vernier:  Run by a former teacher, this probware works seamlessly with smartboards.  The LoggerPro software is intuitive and easy to understand.

11.  NYSCATE:  The New York State Association for Computers and Technologies in Education.  Their conferences are well worth whatever they charge.

12:  Get-A-Grant program from Nasco:  Search grants that are tailored for K-12 teachers.

13.  DonorsChoose.org:  You must be a currently employed teacher, but it's a great resource to get free stuff for your classroom!

14.  Remind101:  Your students text in or e-mail a code to their system, and you can send out text or e-mail reminders safely!

15.  Poll Everywhere:  Your students can text/tweet/e-mail in answers to conduct live polls in your classroom...for free!

16.  Edmodo:  It's like facebook, but for teachers and students.  Secure, safe, archived, moderated and FREE!

17.  STANYS:  The Science Teacher's Association of New York State.  It's the oldest professional organization devoted to science education.  Great conferences and great resources!

18.  USMA:  The United States Metric Association.  You drink your beer in 250 cL portions, not pints, don't you.  Well, this is the site for you!

19.  Tinkercad:  Finally, 3D design software for everyone!
